‘We didn’t give the fans much entertainment’
Tigers boss Ryan Hindley was left disappointed after a 3-1 defeat away to Brighouse. Worksop made a lot of changes to the squad with eleven players missing due to holidays and injuries.
Hindley spoke after the game voicing concerns about the teams performance after giving players opportunities to steak their claim in the first 11. Even though it’s pre-season Hindley wants more from his players ‘Tonight’s performance was unacceptable, I would’ve like to have of got my first win. We didn’t create much, apart from the great play for the goal but we conceded straight away. We wasn’t brave enough in and out of possession. We’ve had a lot of good players missing tonight and people have had opportunities to stake claims and a lot haven’t. In pre season you try and give players opportunities, sometimes they take them and sometimes they don’t.
The Tigers boss thanked the travelling faithful for their support up in West Yorkshire and he felt the side let the fans down. With games coming up thick and fast Hindley will be expecting players to pick themselves up and show better performances in the up and coming games.
With Swallonest tomorrow at home it’s expected it will be a different starting eleven from tonight’s game, ‘I’d like to thank the supporters who came tonight they were as good as ever. We didn’t give the fans much entertainment tonight, we go again though tomorrow and people need to show reactions. Some players need to step up they’re all still on trial so some of them need to step up, if they don’t do what’s asked they will be down the road. I need to win football games and performances like that won’t win me football games. Woolley, Mitch Husbands and Jon Kennedy will be playing tomorrow but the rest will be switched around. We have Sheffield United on Tuesday, following a tough work out Thursday and a game on Saturday so games are coming thick and fast which will be good work out.’
