Can we return back to winning ways this Saturday?

Worksop make the short trip to fifth place Maltby Main this weekend having now gone six league games without a win.

This will prove to be a very tricky away fixture for Hindley and his men, outlining the task at hand for us, Maltby have only lost one league game at home this season, that defeat came in late August, losing 3-2 to Rainworth Miners Welfare.

Ex Miner’s midfielder Lee Hill returns to Muglet Lane to play against his former club, the now fans favourite will be looking for a return to winning ways and get one over his former team mates.

We won the reverse fixture this season, winning 1-0 in a very tight game at Sandy Lane back in August, then Tiger Mark Simpson scored on that day, which was also on his debut.

Our recent form at Maltby has been up and down, winning one, drawing one and losing one. We won 2-1 in the 2014/15 season, Tom Burgin and Conor Sellars gave us a two goal lead at half time, before a second half goal from the Miners made for a nervy end to the game. The following season we was defeated 3-2, current Tiger Lee Hill got the third goal for Maltby giving the Yorkshire side a two goal cushion at half time (3-1), before a Kyle Jordan goal gave us a chance of snatching a point. Last season finished even stevens in a 1-1 draw, Kieron Fenton got us back on level terms after a Ryan Carroll opener.

Our last win came against Parkgate at Sandy Lane, which is crazy to think was all the way back at the end of October, this of course not helped by the many postponements over the winter period so far. Hindley and the fans are eager to get a winning run going, I think with a few good results and if we can keep injury-free, then we will have a starting 11 that gels.
