The Tigers ended their pre-season campaign in enthatic style with an impressive 6-1 win over Evo-Stik outfit Lincoln United.

Worksop went on to regain their composure after an early scare and take the lead after 18 minutes, Steve Woolley provided another delicious free kick and Matt Reay headed home powerfully. The same combination could be seen with our goal at Cleethorpes and it’s something we may see a lot this year by the looks of things!

Minutes later it was another cross and another goal. Deegan Atherton collected the ball wide right and swung in an inviting cross which striker Craig Mitchell simply nodded in to give us a two goal lead.

A raft of substitutions just before the hour mark for the home side didn’t effect the tempo and Worksop continued to impress.

Craig Mitchell blasted in his second of the evening from the penalty spot after a strange hand-ball before heading off for Mark Simpson. The latter then got in on the act getting on the hand of Tomas Pooles delicious through ball to slot in to the corner to put us 4-0 up.

Fellow subsitute Connor Brunt then bagged a quick fire double. First slotting into the corner from the angle and secondly tapping in from close range after a deflected effort on goal from out wide.

The visitors did pull a consolation back late on with right back Rob Norris finding his shot deflect into the corner from just inside the box.

This was the last action in an enthralling pre-season game with the Tigers looking very impressive going into the first game of the NCEL season away at Goole AFC on Saturday afternoon.
