Craig Denton has said his team are ‘well prepared’ and ‘on the right track’ ahead of our NCEL season opener at Goole AFC this Saturday.

His words came off the back of a devastating 6-1 win at home to Evo-Stik side Lincoln United, this was the pre-season finale in what was been an impressive summer for a new look Tigers side. Having narrowly lost to Cleethorpes they thrashed Parkgate and Harworth along with drawing to Mickleover Sports at home and beating a Sheffield United development side and Sheffield FC both 2-1.

Denton said ‘We’ve come up against some good sides in pre-season and competed really well. I think we’ve performed very well in most of the games, I’ve got a good idea of my starting eleven but a few players have certainly given me a bigger headache than I expected’.

He said ahead of the season opener, ‘The focus for us on Saturday is to go and put in a good performance and take three points but of course Goole will be there to stop us. Everybody wants to win that first game and the emphasis to do that is quite high, we want to put in a performance in which the fans will see all the hard work the players and staff have been putting in over the summer and we hope to give them a team to be proud of’.
