After two high-scoring cup games, the Tigresses took their good form into their league fixture against Sheffield United Community Foundation.

Their last league outing came against Doncaster Rovers Foundation where they lost 0-7 at Sandy Lane.

Leah Hardy got things underway as she opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark, as she saw her corner-kick nestle right into the top corner of the goal. This was her 15th goal of the season.

Carly Rowlands made sure the game was more-or-less out of sight with two goals in quick succession.

The second half at Sandy Lane was a scrappy affair.

Worksop confirmed all three points as Grace Sanderson produced a stunning drive into the top corner to wrap up an excellent afternoon for the Ladies.

Rob Hardy had this to say on the victory:

“I think we controlled the game from start to finish, even though we didn’t get into top gear.

“With a wicked strike from a Leah Hardy corner and three goals coming from the bench in which Carly got a double and a wonder-strike from 16-year-old Grace Sanderson, we will be looking to end 2018 with two wins from two.

“We will also be looking for a place in the [County Cup] quarter-finals if we can beat AFC Doncaster in two weeks’ time at home.”

The Ladies next take on Penistone Ladies on Sunday 9th December at Sandy Lane.
