Another clean sheet and another three points for the Tigers.
Worksop Town ran Albion Sports ragged in the second period after a goalless first-half.
Local lad Steve Wankiewicz got the ball rolling after the break as his back post header took the lead. Connor Brunt made instant impact to double the advantage before Sykes wrapped up proceedings from the spot.
Ten minutes into the game, Keita jinked his way into the box but was matched by Deegan Atherton who jockeyed his path and blocked his shot wide. David Reay was on hand to punch the following corner away to safety.
Ruhanduka then saw a rifled effort flash just inches wide of the upright.
The first real chance for the Tigers came in the thirteenth minute. A brilliant through-ball was played to full-back Max Pemberton whose whipped cross couldn’t find the toe of striker Aaron Moxam.
There was another great opportunity five minutes later for the Tigers. The home side utilised the left wing again. Pemberton manufactured a lovely cross that fell onto the boot of Steve Woolley, ten yards out, who saw his his effort on goal blast over the bar.
Chances were few and far between in the first half. Worksop worked hard throughout the first half to regain possession however, the Tigers couldn’t carve out anymore clear cut chances before the interval.
Just before the break, David Reay was forced into a fine save as he pushed Lamin Janneh’s effort, from the edge of the box, wide.
What a start to the second half it was for the Tigers. A devastating in-swinging corner from Woolley, met the head of centre-back Steven Wankiewicz whose bullet header found the bottom left-hand corner of the goal.
Worksop took the game by the scruff of the neck. Another brilliant move down the left flank by Sykes saw his his clever run down the wing end in his pinpoint low cross, across the six-yard box, fall into the path of super sub Brunt who slotted the ball into the back of the net.
Moments later, Khan saw his fizzed free-kick saved and held down low by David Reay.
The Tigers countered and had the ball in the back of the net. Steve Woolley picked out Pemberton in the box who managed to bungle the ball past the keeper but upon celebration, he noticed the man on the side who had his flag up for offside.
The Tigers put the game to bed six minutes from time. Worksop winger Sykes was played a great through-ball by Danny Patterson. Sykes out-muscled Myles Foley before the Albion centre-half brought him down in the box, leaving the man in Black no choice but to point to the spot and to dish out the red card. Sykes picked himself up to smash the ball into the roof of the net from twelve yards.
On the stroke of full-time, Matty Thompson almost marked his return with a goal. The ball fell to Thompson on the edge of the area however, he dragged his volley just wide of the far post.
The full-time whistle sounded to mark a fantastic afternoon for the home side.
