Craig Mitchell netted a hat-trick as the Tigers shocked the league by beating Yorkshire Amateur 7-0.
Mitchell was full of praise for the team performance.
“You just have to look at the lads from today and you know that we prepared right.
“We knew what kind of game it would be, but it was a huge result.
“There was lots of effort from every lad on the pitch, the lads that came on and the fans who made it an unbelievable experience. The result was just phenomenal.”
Mitchell netted a treble but was quick to pass on the praise to his teammates.
“It’s not very often that I pop up with a hat-trick, so it is quite special. But even if it was me, or anyone else, it wouldn’t matter to me as it is more about that end goal of trying to achieve promotion and results like that will hopefully send fear to the rest of the league and we will carry it on.
“Again, individual performances don’t win you games – it comes from every single one of us.
“People work hard around you and it is a massive team game.
“You can’t take the accolades, there are individual bits of talent that come from all around the pitch whether it is Dave Reay in goal, our centre-halves or the passion in midfield or the lads from the bench who had a good impact – the boys were absolutely brilliant.
“It was a brilliant game for us.”
Next week we take on Bottesford Town away from Sandy Lane.
The in-form forward stated the importance of carrying on this run.
“We just need to perform how we did today, just reiterate that display.
“We need everybody; working hard, starting from the front, early pressure and get balls into the box to give us a chance.
“Nobody has our work rate in this league and especially quality throughout the ranks.”
