Can the winning run continue ?
Worksop Town entertain relegation-threatened Hall Road Rangers at 3pm this Saturday. This fixture has the ingredients of a classic, with both sides needing every point between now and the end of the season.
Worksop gaffer Craig Denton will be looking for the fighting spirit shown in the second half of last Saturday’s fantastic comeback win at Bottesford Town to continue this weekend. Our winning streak could be stretched to 12 games and I’m sure the lads will be fired up to make that a certainty.
Last weekend’s win was the finest moments I’ve experienced this season; fans hugging each other and singing, and togetherness between the players, coaching staff and fans. The match showed just how unbeatable a team with all that in their arsenal can be.
Denton will be looking to improve the head-to-head against Hall Road Rangers, as the Tigers have only won one of the three games against the Humberside club, the 4-2 victory in Hull earlier this season. A brace from Aaron Moxam, plus goals from Kyle Jordan and Steve Woolley, made sure the three points came back to Sandy Lane that day. With the form we’re in at the moment hopefully it will be a similar outcome on Saturday.
Our opponents will be coming into the game full of confidence, having beaten Knaresborough Town 2-1 at home last weekend. Kent Bannister scored a brace to drag the Rangers out of the relegation zone. With the club fighting for survival, Hall Road could pose a threat to Worksop with every point vital for our visitors to make sure they beat the drop.
Momentum is in full swing for the Tigers, so let’s get down to Sandy Lane and match the unbelievable turnouts we’ve had in our last two fixtures for this mouth-watering contest. Most fans will be confident that there will be goals in this match, and with 19 goals in our last five games you can’t argue against that. So let’s get down to Sandy Lane to witness another fantastic performance from Denton’s men.
