Former Tigers centre-half Chris Salt has been added to Craig Denton’s backroom staff as part of the Club’s scouting network.
Chris played for Worksop Town in the Evo-Stik League during the 2013/14 campaign, which saw the Tigers finish in the playoff places.
Last season, the talented defender suffered a nasty knee injury which cut short his time with Matlock Town in March.
It is during his lengthy time on the sidelines that the former Sheffield United youth player has taken a year out to help Craig Denton.
The gaffer expressed his delight on the new recruit.
“I am delighted to welcome Chris to our Senior Scouting Team.
“Chris is a talented and experienced player who is unfortunately out injured for this season.
“We have had lots of conversations and he is keen to get his foot in the door, so I’m very happy to announce him as a scout.”
Salt is also excited and can’t wait to start his new role with Worksop.
“It’s a great opportunity for me and one that I’m really looking forward to.
“Unluckily for myself, I’ll have to miss this season due to my injury from the end of last campaign.
“I spoke to Craig and he tried to help me as much as he could and offered me the role within the club. I know a lot about Craig and what he’s about and I could tell with what he did with Worksop last season that he’s got something good here.
“I’m really looking forward to being a part of that and even playing a big part in seasons to come – I thank him for giving me this chance to stay within football whilst recovering from injury.
“I’ve been at Worksop before, so know a lot about the club and how big it can be. There are exciting times ahead.
“Once again, I’m really looking forward to my new role with the Tigers.”
Welcome back to the Club, Chris.
