Kyle Jordan has moved to bring in James Gregory who has today joined Worksop Town from NPL South East rivals Sheffield FC.
The left-winger left the World’s Oldest Club on Thursday, after making more than 300 appearances in red and black after making his debut in November 2010.
“I’m really excited to join Worksop Town”, said Gregory.
“Having played at Sandy Lane a number of times previously, I know how well-supported the club is. It will be great to link up with a few ex-teammates and I think the squad is looking strong.
“The gaffer emphasised how enjoyable playing for Worksop Town can be. He explained what they were looking for and how I can help the team. The conversations were very positive, and I believe Worksop can prove to be the right fit for me.
“I like to play wide left, use my pace and dribbling to get past players and set up the striker. I will also chip in with some goals myself. I work hard for the team and cover plenty of ground.
“It is a good first fixture to start with [on Saturday against Stocksbridge]. It will be a tough game, but one that I will relish playing in.
“I’m really looking forward to the game and will do my utmost to make a good first impression for the travelling support.”
Manager Kyle Jordan stated: “It’s really difficult not to sound scripted here, but I am genuinely delighted that we have finally got this one over the line.
“Jinks [Gregory] has been our number one target since I have taken over the role and I can’t wait to get him involved.
“I know he will love it here and it is refreshing to have players asking about how we play, what our ambitions are, and where they will fit in with the current squad.
“He’s a great lad that I’ve known for probably 15-20 years or so, and whilst it will have been difficult for him to leave Sheffield FC, I know he’s coming somewhere where he will be hugely popular and love his football.”
The 28-year-old winger is available to play in today’s away game at Stocksbridge Park Steels.
