Wembley dream for Worksop continues after a solid display beating Kirby Muxloe 3-0.
Man of the match Kyle Jordan got a second half brace to place Worksop into the first round proper of the FA Vase. Alec Denton put the Tigers noses in front in the first half.
Worksop started the opening stages the brighter side, Tigers midfielder Jack Barnett hit a curling strike towards goal but the visitors goalkeeper spilled the ball into the path of man in form Jordan who couldn’t quite convert the follow up.
The hosts opened the scoring eight minutes before the interval, a fantastic passage of play culminated with Tigers striker Denton prodding home from close range to give Worksop a welcoming lead before half-time.
Defender Sam Liversidge executed a brilliant header from a set-piece towards goal which beat the keeper but couldn’t loop under the bar, keeping the score line 1-0.
Five minutes into the second half and Worksop looked the more dangerous side, Tigers centre forward Jordan played a beautiful ball over the top into winger Micah Bishop’s path, whose bursting run of pace left the Kirby defender for dead before smashing a great strike that went agonisingly wide of the target.
An great bullet header from the edge of the box by Jordan put the Tigers 2 up. The striker manufactured a header on goal that Alan Shearer would be proud of, the header came from the edge of the box and looped over the keeper to double the Tigers lead.
Jordan put the game to bed and Worksop into the next round courtesy of some great strength and skill by Jordan Turner, Turner then laid the ball off to the Tigers striker who drilled a magnificent low-cut effort on goal to give the Tigers an unassailable lead. Jordan now has four in three games which shows he is back in form and back in the staring 11 which will bring smiles to the Worksop fans faces.
The hosts bossed the closing stages winning every tackle and producing a solid defensive display, making it two games on the bounce with a clean sheet.
